New Housing - Consultation Results - 15 Houses 13-2-15

(published by: Parish Council)

13/02/2015

Thank you to all of you who returned your voting forms and provided comments, which have been very useful to the Parish Council (PC) in formulating its comments and opinions on the current 3 full planning applications for a total of 15 houses. The PC’s formal response will be a direct reflection of the votes cast and the opinions collected.

Of the 516 consultation letters, which were hand-delivered to each elector in the parish, we received a total of 187 completed voting forms. This represents a ‘turnout’ figure of 36.2% which is generally accepted to be an excellent response rate for such exercises.

The first question concerned people’s vote for or against the current planning applications – and an overwhelming majority (74.3%) expressed their support for the proposals for 15 individually-designed and constructed houses.

The second question asked about the full project – an additional 30 such houses on top of the current planning applications. The answers to this question were much closer – with a small majority of 50.8% of votes cast in support.

The comments made on the returned forms were many and varied, and will inform not only the Parish Council’s response to the current applications but will also provide some useful considerations for the continuing development of the Neighbourhood Development Plan. It is clear that there is a strong feeling that we must aim to regenerate the parish – new blood, new money, improved infrastructure - and to reverse the decline in services and facilities that have been so noticeable. This feeling is not shared by all, but does represent a majority opinion.

The formal Parish Council’s response will be put together in the next few days, and will in time be published on the planning applications on Herefordshire Council’s website. It is also possible that one or more of the applications may have to go to Planning Committee, in which case a representative of the PC will speak in their favour based on the collected opinions and comments.

You should also consider making your own personal comments on the three separate applications on Herefordshire Council’s website – link shown below – and the application numbers are 143830, 143831 & 143832.

It has also advised its intention to call a public meeting, and to carry out a parish-wide ballot, to gauge opinion on the very recent planning applications (P143830/1/2) which have been submitted to build 15 houses to the west and south of the village centre.

Questions on these issues can be addressed to Paul Avery, PC Chair, on 340409, or you can wait until the public meeting has been arranged.

Village Pub & Development Update 8-12-14

(published by: website administrator)

08/12/2014

Royal George
Click the image to enlarge it

Kinsey Hern would like to host three update sessions for people who want to know more about evolving plans for the pub, and about his plans for a housing development on the side of the village. He is keen to take into account our views on what we want, preferably at an early stage before plans are set in stone.

The sessions will take place on Thursday 11th December at The Barns, next to Upperhouse Farm, starting at 4pm, 6pm and 8pm. They should last around 45 mins to an hour, and will give people the opportunity to ask questions of Kinsey directly. Parking is available at the Barns if you don’t want to walk.

It would be helpful for Kinsey to have a rough idea of likely numbers, so please email him if you are planning to attend. If you can’t make it on Thursday, but would like to have done so, please also email him (kjhern@hotmail.com) and it may be possible to find other ways of bringing you up to date and allowing your input.

Please let your friends and neighbours know about these sessions so as many as possible can contribute to the plans.
