Free Holiday Activities with Here for Herefordshire Holidays – Bookings open next week
The Here for Herefordshire Holidays programme will offer fully funded activities to eligible families this Easter. The programme is open to children and young people (school aged 5 to 16) who receive benefits-related free school meals.
Eligible children and young people can enjoy up to 4 free activity sessions throughout the programme, which will run between 22nd – 27th April. There will be a free, healthy meal on offer at each session.
The Here for Herefordshire Holidays programme, which is funded by the Department for Education, aims to get young people involved with new, fun activities, keeping them active and connected with others.

Bookings will open at 4pm on Tuesday 1st April.
Warm Homes Local Grant funding for Herefordshire residents
Residents can now apply for the Warm Homes Local Grant scheme.
The aim of the scheme, which starts in April 2025, is to improve as many fuel poor homes as possible, helping to reduce energy bills for the occupants, and cut carbon emissions.
The scheme aims to support low-income Herefordshire households living in the least energy efficient homes.
The Warm Homes Local Grant will follow a whole house approach. This means ensuring that the building has appropriate windows, doors and insulation before looking at heating systems.
For full details of the scheme and to apply visit the Herefordshire Council website.
The Library Home Delivery Service (bringing the library to you)
Did you know that Herefordshire libraries offer a home delivery service, aimed at people who are unable to visit the library in person? Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the pleasure of reading, so if you struggle to get out and about, this service could be for you.
The Library Home Delivery Service is a free facility to deliver up to 20 library items to Herefordshire residents every six weeks. There is a wide range of books on offer, with many available in large print, or as audio books on CD. Customers can choose to reserve items that might be on their reading (or listening) wish list, or enjoy a specially curated selection of items, chosen by the team on their behalf!
Available to both children and adults, who live at home or in residential care, Herefordshire’s friendly Librarians have the expertise to ensure you can still enjoy what the library has to offer.
If you think the service could be useful to you or someone you know, you can find out more on the Herefordshire Council website, you can apply online or call the service on 01432 261556.
