Talk Community Newsletter 25th April

Community funding opportunities coming soon

Are you part of a community or voluntary group in Herefordshire with a vision for positive change? The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) community grants could be the catalyst for your projects! Watch this space as we will publish more information in the coming weeks.

Community Energy Fund webinars

The Midlands Net Zero Hub are holding webinars to promote the Community Energy Fund and help communities learn how to develop energy projects.

Through the Community Energy Fund, community groups can receive grants of up to £140,000 to support the initial but critical feasibility phases of a project. Read more about the Community Energy Fund on the Midlands Net Zero Hub website.

The webinars are on Tuesday 7th May (12-1pm) and Thursday 9th May (7-8pm), and are free to attend. You can book your free place on the Midlands Net Zero Hub website

Local Transport Plan

Herefordshire Council is in the early stages of developing a new Local Transport Plan (LTP) for the county. The LTP will set out what, where and how the Council intends to invest in transport in Herefordshire with the aim of boosting the economy, preserving our environment, and fostering social inclusion.

From March 25th to May 21st 2024, you can share your views for improving transport in the county. The feedback received will help to shape the detail of the plan before we undertake wider public consultation later in the year. To have your say, and to learn more about the LTP, visit the Herefordshire Council website and complete the survey (it only takes 10 mins)!

Herefordshire Waste Service Webinar

Herefordshire Council are hosting a Waste Service Webinar on Thursday May 9th 12:45 - 14:00 for Town and Parish Councils, Community Groups and anyone interested in reducing waste in our communities.

The webinar will provide an opportunity to hear about Herefordshire Council’s ambitious new waste service and learn how plans to expand the service will mean better recycling opportunities, helping us to minimise waste and increase reuse, repair and recycling. It will also provide a significant contribution to our investment in low carbon projects, and strengthen our stewardship of Herefordshire's natural resources.
